Revit & Supply Chain

What is BIM ?

BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a collaborative process for managing information and data in a common format throughout the life-cycle of a construction or building asset.  The life-cycle commences with the initial feasibility, and continues with the detailed design, construction, operation & maintenance of a building and may ultimately end with it's demolition.

The use of BIM is designed to increase efficiency construction management efficiency and reduce errors by creating a virtual design in 3D CAD and encompass a strategy of providing a clear consistency in the creation, storage and exchange of data, naming and identification conventions, drawings, schedules, maintenance, component, part & manufacturer information. Revit is a BIM compliant (Building Information Modeling) 3D CAD software tool.

Revit Animation Outsourcing

When time limitations or resources are a problem and there is a need like to create an animation, we can create compelling and persuasive CAD animations using your Revit model or by importing your model to Navisworks, Showcase or 3DS Max. We have examples here on 4D Revit Animations and on You Tube. If we can be of assistance, please Contact us about CAD rendering & animation services.

Government's BIM Requirement from 2016

From 2016, the Government will require stakeholders to adopt BIM (Building Information Modeling) for all central government building procurement contracts. It is expected that that over the next few years, the BIM requirement will further extend into the procurement for construction & buildings in non-governmental contracts and in the private sector.

Revit is a BIM compliant (Building Information Modeling) 3D CAD software tool. If we can be of assistance, please Contact us for further information.

Revit Supply Chain for Sub-Contractor's

For sub-contractor's, there maybe a contractual requirement to supply the client or main contractor with a Revit BIM CAD sub-model.  For example, a HVAC sub-contractor might be supplied with a copy of the client's Revit Master CAD model so that it may be used to overlay the HVAC requirement.  The client or main contractor may require the CAD model updated so that it can be used to update the

Master CAD model and thus maintain the BIM requirement.

Revit for Manufacturer's

For manufacturer's, there may be a competitive advantage in having BIM compliant 3D CAD models (website downloadable) of your particular product made available to designers for selection and inclusion in within the design & specification of a construction or building.
